Recently I was introduced, via Twitter, to Tim Silverwood, who is an environmentalist, film maker , surfer and co-founder of Take 3, an initiative that encourages beach goers to “take 3” pieces of trash (or more) when they leave the beach, even if they didn’t put it there in the first place. This month Tim is embarking on a journey in which he will sail across the Pacific Ocean from Hawaii to Vancouver to conduct research on the marine debris in the Great Pacific Garbage patch.
