In this video, shot at the Electric Lodge in Venice, CA, plastic trash is converted to light crude oil. When I first heard about this technology from my friend Jim “Homer” Holm of The Clean Ocean Project, I couldn’t believe it was possible. I joked that it reminded me of that scene in the movie Back to the Future when the crazy scientist stuffs banana peels and other garbage into the “flux capacitor” to fuel his time traveling DeLorean.
The demonstration was put on by E-N-ergy, LLC a partner with Blest Co. Ltd. (Japan) to develop and promote scalable plastic to oil conversion systems. Listen in amazement as Homer describes the synthetic polymers the Blest system designed to convert to the light crude oil. Stay tuned for the informative Q&A session.
