"image of albatross bolus"

This is a photo I took a few weeks ago at an Earth Day Festival I attended. It is the stomach contents of an albatross. This stomach regurgitation, called “bolus,” represents the kind of plastic junk sea birds often mistake for food. The plastic string is most likely fishing lines, but it could easily be dental floss, or some other recklessly discarded waste.
